Accreditation process

A clear path to accreditation.

Every step, from application to reassessment, is defined in advance — you know what is assessed, who decides and when.

Steps

From application to reassessment

With the application we need

  • The requested scope of accreditation (standards, sectors or methods)
  • Proof of the body's legal status
  • Management system documentation (manual, procedures)
  • Information on staff, sites and equipment
  1. 01

    Application

    Application

You submit an application with the requested scope, proof of legal status and your management system documentation.

  2. 02

    Application review and quote

We review the application and our resources for the requested scope, then prepare a quote and an assessment plan.

  3. 03

    Assessment

    Document assessment

The assessment team reviews the documentation against the requirements of the standard and the accreditation rules.

  4. 04

    On-site assessment

Assessment at the body's head office and sites, including witnessing of its work — audits, tests or inspections.

  5. 05

    Corrective actions

For any nonconformities, the body provides root-cause analysis and corrective actions, which we then assess.

  6. 06

    Decision

    Accreditation decision

The decision is made by people who were not involved in the assessment. The body receives an accreditation certificate and a scope annex.

  7. 07

    Maintaining accreditation

    Surveillance

Regular surveillance assessments throughout the accreditation cycle confirm that the body continues to meet the requirements.

  8. 08

    Reassessment

Before the cycle ends, a reassessment is carried out for a new accreditation cycle.

Accreditation cycle

How accreditation is maintained

Start of cycle

Initial accreditation

Document and on-site assessment, decision and issue of the accreditation certificate.

During the cycle

Surveillance assessments

Regular assessments and witnessing confirm that competence is maintained.

End of cycle

Reassessment

A full assessment before the cycle ends, as the basis for a new accreditation decision.

Accreditation certificate

What the certificate and annex contain

Every accreditation certificate comes with an annex — the scope of accreditation — stating exactly what the body is accredited for.

  • Accreditation number (DCS-MS, DCS-TL or DCS-IB)
  • Legal name and address of the accredited body
  • Accreditation standard
  • Accreditation date and expiry date
  • Scope: standards and sectors, tests and methods, or fields of inspection
  • Issuer: Dunavski centar za sertifikaciju d.o.o.
